DO DATE NIGHT RIGHT!
When was the last time you and your mate had date night?
*As in, out of the house. Together. Just you two (minus the little people). Dressed up to the nines and off to a place where someone else is doing the cooking, so you can re-connect and enjoy hanging out together.
Yep, I thought so. Let's fix that right. Pronto.
Here's what you need to do:
- Pick up your phone
- Get your lover on the line
- Make a time for date night
- Book the babysitter (I can help with that)
Then, read on because I've got your date night venues sorted.
Here's my pick of the best places throughout Geelong to dine kid-free.
As you can see, we're absolutely spoilt for choice in this wonderful region of ours.
So Frenchy, so chic. You can have French for breakfast, lunch and dinner at this elegant eatery. Their pastries and three-course Sunday feasts are absolutely epic.
56a Mount Pleasant Road, Belmont
It’s all about sharing here. Their fancy definition is ‘contemporary Australian dining with the flavours of South America’, but basically it is the best local produce they can find, served in an unadulterated way and with respect.
93-95 Ryrie Street, Geelong
ARCHIVE WINE BAR
If its wine you want, the Archive team can deliver. Here you’ll find a selection of wines by the glass (there’s more than 100 to choose from), craft beers and spirit. Chow down on a bar snack, tasting plate or platter while you sip. Parking is easy peasy, too.
140 High Street, Belmont
Yummy Northern Italian inspired cuisine smack bang in the Geelong CBD. So simple but so good. Oh, and don’t get me started on the pizzas and the vino list – AMAZING!
66 Little Malop Street, Geelong
This Japanese restaurant and sushi bar has dim lighting and is quiet = bliss. And let me tell you, these guys know how to do seafood! A trip to Torquay is never complete without a visit to the den.
34 Bell Street, Torquay
Take in Torquay’s lovely waterfront street level or from higher up inside at this Spanish-style restaurant. If you can’t decide from the menu, let the team decide while you sip on a serious cocktail. Check out their regular weekly specials nights, too.
17 The Esplanade, Torquay
This place is next level! Every visit is a unique experience. They’ve got a different menu every week, every day, and for every guest because they only serve what their farmers, growers and artisans can grow, pick or make.
Address: Ryan Place, Geelong
My absolute faaave cuisine is Mexican so I was beyond thrilled when El Santo swung open its doors (I’m seriously considering moving my office in there). The Corn Cob is to die for.
Address: 115 Ryrie Street, Geelong
Tucked away within the Anglesea Surf Life Saving Club, here you'll find yummy European food, fine wine and good vibes. Sit back and enjoy the views of Anglesea beach, Point Addis and Port Phillip Heads. There’s blankets, too, so you can cosy up while sucking up that fresh, salty air.
Address: 100 Great Ocean Road, Anglesea
Well, there you have it. I hope this list has given you some ideas of new eateries to explore.
Can't decide? Hit forward on this email and send to your lover. Sharing’s caring, right?
Is your favourite place on the list? If not, let me know where you go. I'm always looking for new places to try.
And remember, if you need a hand booking a babysitter I can help, just shoot me an email.
Enjoy your date, lovers.
